A.4. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Notice
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive became law in most
EU countries during 2005. The directive applies to the disposal of waste electrical and
electronic equipment within the member states of the European Union.
As part of the legislation, electrical and electronic equipment will feature the crossed out
wheeled bin symbol (see image at left) on the product or in the documentation to show
that these products must be disposed of in accordance with the WEEE Directive.
In the European Union, this label indicates that this product should not be disposed of
with domestic or "ordinary" waste. It should be deposited at an appropriate facility to
enable recovery and recycling.
