(formerly Thomson), is proud to present the
next generation HD content distribution system for the Hospitality and Free-To-Guest
markets. The
PPrroo::IIddiioomm
™
compliant COM1000 HD system with its compact
modular design promises to be a cost reduction over existing technology while
providing enhanced functionality and serviceability.
The solution will utilize QAM technology and
PPrroo::IIddiioomm
encryption for delivery of
DIRECTV HD content over a coaxial cable infrastructure. The core video serving
technology is Technicolor’s
CCOOMM2244
cards each capable of serving two HD video
streams. The
CCOOMM2244
is housed within the
CCOOMM220000
server chassis to provide a high
density configuration reducing space and cost.
The modular and scalable design of the system is capable of supporting up to 24
pr
ograms of MPEG2 /MPEG4 HD content while only occupying 8RU of rack space!
Other components of the head end system paired with the Technicolor products are
a RF distribution panel, Layer 2 switch, and a QAM modulator.
