Unit Effect
Target devices
If the target device in the DSView software database has a single appliance con-
nection, the name will be pulled from the appliance to update the target device name
in the DSView software database. If the target device in the DSView softw are data-
base has multiple appliance connections, the tar get device name willbe pulled from
one of the appliance connections(based on the configured connection type priority)
to update the target device nam e in the DSView software database.
Cascade switches
If the cascade switch in the DSView software database has a single appliance con-
nection, the name will be pulled from the appliance to update the cascade switch
name in the DSView software database. If the cascade switch in the DSView soft-
ware database has multiple appliance connectionsto the same appliance (a mul-
tiuser cascade switch), the cascade switch name will be pulled from the appliance
connection w ith the lowest port number to update the casca de switch in the DSView
software database. (Multiuser cascade switchesare treated as separate cascade
switches by the appliance.)
