6 Information for Administrators
This chapter provides the system administrator with additional information
about NetWare Connect for ISDN functions and configuration.
6.1 NDS and NetWare Connect for ISDN
NetWare Connect for ISDN’s NDS support, described below, is available only
on NetWare 4.1 and later servers with NDS. This object is not available in
NetWare versions 3.12 and 3.2.
NDS Extension
During the installation of NetWare Connect for ISDN, two new objects are cre-
ated in the NDS tree: the CONNECT object and the NWCI object.
The CONNECT object is located in the same container as the server object
which represents the server on which NetWare Connect for ISDN was in-
stalled.
The name of the object is CONNECT_<server name>.
The NWCI object is the object used in configuring the NetWare Connect for
ISDN by means of the NetWare Administrator. The location of this object in
the NDS tree is determined during the installation by the administrator per-
forming the procedure. The object is named NWCI_<server name> and is sym-
bolized by a special icon.
Snap-In for NetWare Administrator (NWAdmin)
The Snap-In for NetWare Administrator makes it possible to configure basic
RNSI parameters and to display the ISDN-Controller configuration from any
Windows workstation.
Prerequisites for Use of the Snap-In
Make sure the following components are present:
l NDS object “NWCI_<server name>”
This object is created in the NDS tree by the administrator during the

and 5.x.
