5 Operation
This chapter briefly describes the operation of NetWare Connect for ISDN
NIAS Edition 2.1, which is the NetWare Connect for ISDN version installed on
NetWare 5 servers and other NetWare servers with NIAS 4.1.
For instructions on operating NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0, please see the
NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 Installation and Administration Guide,
Chapter 12, “Managing NetWare Connect for ISDN”, pp. 229–240.
5.1 Stopping NetWare Connect for ISDN
To stop NetWare Connect for ISDN, proceed as follows:
1. Notify all workstations that are logged in to CCS or RNSI so that they
can log out.
2. Before stopping NetWare Connect for ISDN, close any configuration and
monitoring modules that may be active, such as NWCCON, NWCICON,
NWCSTAT, CCSSTAT or RNSISTAT.
3. Stop NetWare Connect for ISDN by entering the following command at
the system console:
nwcstop
This executes all the commands in the file NWCSTOP.NCF, which is created
during the NetWare Connect for ISDN installation and automatically updated
on each configuration change.
5.2 Starting NetWare Connect for ISDN
To start NetWare Connect for ISDN, enter the following command at the sys-
tem console:
nwcstart
This executes all the commands in NWCSTART.NCF. This file starts both the
drivers and the services enabled. The file NWCSTART.NCF is created during
the NetWare Connect for ISDN installation, and automatically updated on
each configuration change.
