Special Instructions for Configuring PCI Controllers
If you have an AVM ISDN-Controller B1 PCI installed in your server, then
please observe the following instructions before configuring the ISDN-Con-
troller:
l Older NetWare versions 3.12 and 4.10 require a patch in order to sup-
port PCI controllers. In NetWare 3.12 / 4.10, verify whether the following
NLMs are loaded. Enter
modules to display a list of all the NLMs load-
ed.
– MSM31X.NLM and NBI31X.NLM, August 1996
– MSM.NLM and NBI.NLM, August 1996
If these modules are not present in the system, update your NetWare
version as recommended in Novell’s minimum patch list. The current
patches can be found on Novell’s Internet site at:
http://novell.com/misc/patlst.htm#nw
Both of these NLMs have to be loaded by AUTOEXEC.NCF before Net-
Ware Connect for ISDN and the network adapters. Please note the in-
stallation requirements indicated in the patch documentation.
l NetWare Connect for ISDN supports interrupt sharing. In order for the
ISDN-Controller to share an interrupt with a network adapter, the net-
work adapter must also support this feature.
4.4 Port and Security Configuration
For detailed information on port configuration, please see “Configuring the
Ports” in the “NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 Installation and Administration

For details on security configuration, see “Configuring Security” in the
“NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 Installation and Administration Guide”, pp.
121–162.
Please note that the sections on NASI and NCS do not apply to NetWare Con-
nect for ISDN.
