Removing NDC
34 Netware Connect for ISDN 4 Configuration
Starting CAPI Applications Automatically
To avoid problems in the start-up procedure and ensure that CAPI applica-
tions are only started after NDC has been loaded, workstation users can cre-
ate a special NDC Autostart program group. All applications in this folder are
started automatically once NDC has been loaded by means of the Automat-
ic Connect option. The folder must be named NDC-Autostart and be locat-
ed in the appropriate subdirectory of the Windows folder: either in Start
menu / Programs or, for a user-specific environment, in Profiles / <user
name> / Start menu / Programs.
CAPI applications can also be started automatically without using the NDC
option Automatic Connect. Create a shortcut to start the program
WNDC.EXE and add the argument -x to its command line. This shortcut
then loads NDC and starts all applications in the NDC Autostart folder.
Removing NDC
NDC can be removed from the Windows 95/98 or Windows NT system using
the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.
1. Open Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select AVM Network Distributed CAPI in the list of installed programs.
3. Click on the Add/Remove button and confirm that you want to re-
move NDC.
4. Click on OK to end the removal procedure.
Further information on the installation and operation of NDC in other operat-
ing systems can be found in Using NDC and CAPI Applications on pp. 163–
172 of the NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 Installation and Administration
Guide.
First Test Connection with NDC and CCS
After you have installed, configured and loaded NetWare Connect for ISDN
on the server and Network Distributed CAPI (NDC) on the workstation, you
can test whether CCS and NDC work properly. The program Connect32 can be
used to perform a simple test connection. The program is included on the
CD-ROM accompanying your AVM ISDN-Controller, in the directory \TOOLS\
CONNECT.32.
Install and start Connect32. If necessary, enter the Multiple Subscriber Num-
ber for the workstation to use in the Connect32 settings. Then dial a connec-
tion to the AVM Data Call Center (+49-30-399 84 300).
