32 Netware Connect for ISDN 4 Configuration
Operating NDC
When NDC is started on the workstation, a user interface for login, protocol
configuration and message output is displayed:
NDC Window in Windows 95 and Windows 98
Connection Dialog
This page allows the user to enter the information (user name and pass-
word) that NDC will use to log in to the selected server. It may be necessary
to enter the user name with its complete context.
When the connection between NDC and CCS has been successfully estab-
lished, the NDC window closes automatically. An icon in the system tray
shows that NDC is loaded. The color of the icon indicates the current driver
status:
Protocols Dialog Page
This dialog page allows you to choose between the protocols IPX and TCP/IP,
provided both of them are correctly installed on the workstation. For TCP/IP,
a manual configuration option is also available. This is necessary if the NDC
client and the server running CCS are in different segments of the LAN, since
the broadcast packets used to search for a server automatically are not for-
warded to other IP segments.
Significance of the NDC Status Icon Color in the System Tray
GRAY NDC is loaded; no connection to any server.
RED NDC is connected to a server; no CAPI applications active.
GREEN NDC is connected to a server; one or more CAPI applications
are active; no ISDN connection is currently active.
Blinking The blink rhythm indicates the number of active ISDN con-
nections.
