3 Installation in NetWare Without
NIAS and With NIAS Version 4.0 or
Earlier
Before you install NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.1, find out which NetWare
version is installed on your NetWare server.
NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.1 contains specially adapted versions of Net-
Ware Connect for ISDN for different NetWare operating systems. The installa-
tion routine verifies the operating system environment of your NetWare serv-
er and installs the appropriate version of NetWare Connect for ISDN for your
NetWare environment. On NetWare servers without NIAS or with NIAS ver-
sion 4.0 or earlier, NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 will be installed to ensure
compatibility with older NetWare versions.
This chapter describes the first installation and automatic configuration of
NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 on a NetWare server without NIAS4.1.
Please note that the following instructions refer to the first installation of
NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 on a NetWare server. The procedure for re-
installing the software after it has been installed and removed is slightly dif-
ferent.
3.1 Before You Begin
To prepare for the installation, perform the following steps:
l After Novell NetWare has been installed, you must down the server and
restart it at least once before you proceed to install NetWare Connect
for ISDN.
l Before you begin the installation of NetWare Connect for ISDN, you
must unload the driver AIO.NLM.
l Please note that none of the ISDN-Controllers to be used by NetWare
Connect for ISDN must be used by a NetWare driver nor by any other ap-
plication during installation and operation of NetWare Connect for
ISDN. If necessary, then unload the CAPI20.NLM driver.
