2 Installation in NetWare 5 or
NetWare With NIAS 4.1
Before you install NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.1, find out which NetWare
version is installed on your NetWare server.
NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.1 contains specially adapted versions of Net-
Ware Connect for ISDN for different NetWare operating systems. The installa-
tion routine verifies the operating system environment of your NetWare serv-
er and installs the appropriate version of NetWare Connect for ISDN for your
NetWare environment. On NetWare 5 servers and on NetWare servers with
NIAS 4.1, NetWare Connect for ISDN NIAS Edition 2.1 will be installed.
This chapter describes the initial installation and automatic configuration of
NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.1 in NetWare 5 and NetWare with NIAS 4.1.
Please note that the following instructions refer to the first installation of
NetWare Connect for ISDN NIAS Edition 2.1 on a NetWare server. The re-in-
stallation procedure after the software has been installed and removed is
slightly different.
2.1 Before You Begin
To prepare for the installation, perform the following steps:
l In Novell NetWare 5, the NIAS 4.1 (Novell Internet Access Server) pro-
gram must be installed before you begin. NIAS 4.1 is enclosed with
Novell NetWare 5.
If NIAS 4.1 is not shown in the list of products installed on your server,
you must install it before you install NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.1.
l After Novell NetWare has been installed, you must down the server and
restart it at least once before you proceed to install NetWare Connect
for ISDN.
l Before you begin the installation of NetWare Connect for ISDN, you
must unload the driver AIO.NLM.
l Please note that none of the ISDN-Controllers to be used by NetWare
Connect for ISDN must be used by a NetWare driver nor by any other ap-
plication during installation and operation of NetWare Connect for
ISDN. If necessary, unload the existing drivers using the command
load capi20 -d.
