Dial-in Access to the LAN: Remote Node Service for ISDN (RNSI)
10 Netware Connect for ISDN 1 Introduction
Dial-in Access to the LAN: Remote Node Service for ISDN
(RNSI)
In order for remote computers to access the LANs resources, the Remote
Node Services for ISDN (RNSI) must be installed and activated on the Net-
Ware server. RNSI allows remote computers outside the local-area network
to dial in over ISDN or over GSM. The remote workstations can use Net-
WAYS/ISDN or a PPP client to dial in to the NetWare servers RNSI service
and access LAN resources using the network protocol IPX/SPX and/or
TCP/IP.
The following diagram illustrates dial-in LAN access from remote worksta-
tions.

Further information and examples of the general capabilities of RNSI can be
found in the NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0 Installation and Administration
Guide in the section NetWAYS or PPP over ISDN-compatible Product on the
Remote Clients; RNSI on the NetWare Connect for ISDN Server, pp. 2833.
