3 Driver Software Installation – Windows 98
3.3.6 Uninstalling the Driver Software
To remove the Mobile ISDN-Controller from the Windows
95 system, open the Control Panel and double-click on
the Add/Remove Programs applet. Select the entry
“AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M2” in the list of installed
software, and click on the Add/Remove button. The
“Uninstall” program is started. Follow the instructions
displayed.
3.4 Windows 98 Installation
Specially developed WDM (Win32 Driver Model) driver
software is supplied with the AVM Mobile ISDN-
Controller M2 for use in Microsoft Windows 98. This
true 32-bit device driver provides full support for all
Windows 98 features.
The Common ISDN API 2.0 driver supplied supports both
Windows and DOS applications, simultaneously.
3.4.1 Installing the Driver Software
To install the ISDN-Controller software in Windows 98,
proceed as follows:
1. Restart Windows 98. Insert the CD-ROM labeled
“AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1/M2” in your CD-
ROM drive.
2. Then insert the AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M2
in your computer’s PCMCIA slot.
Windows 98’s Plug&Play mechanism detects the
new card and Windows builds a driver information
database.
3. The Add New Hardware Wizard appears and searches
for the drivers for the new device. Click on Next.
4. In the next dialog, select the option “Search for the
best driver for your device. (Recommended).” Then
click on Next.
