Appendix A: About the AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1
English
Note: In remote access over ISDN it is common practice
for CAPI applications to identify the caller’s ISDN number
before accepting an incoming call. In order for the ISDN-
Controller called to be able to process the GSM caller’s
number, the GSM user must have the additional service
CLIP (Calling Line Identification Presentation). Please see
your GSM network operator or service provider for details.
A.1.2 ISDN V.110
Please note that the applications interface CAPI 2.0 alone
is not sufficient to allow the Mobile ISDN-Controller
M1 to call any ISDN device. Since GSM operators use the
synchronous V.110 protocol for bit-rate adaptation over
the ISDN link of the connection, communication with
V.110 dial-in ports is simple. Please make sure that this
protocol is also selected in ISDN applications, such as
FRITZ!com or CAPI Port driver, since the remote site may
otherwise terminate the connection immediately.
A.1.3 Analog modem V.32
The analog modem protocol V.32 is supported according
to CAPI 2.0 for both incoming and outgoing connections.
FRITZ!com is an ISDN application which can use this
protocol. Please use the AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver to
operate conventional modem software.
A.1.4 Group 3 Telefax
Group 3 telefax is supported in accordance with CAPI 2.0
for both incoming and outgoing connections.
