6 Possible Errors and Remedies
If so, check for conflicts in the allocation of system
resources (Interrupt levels and I/O addresses). In DOS
and Windows 3.x, use the program MSD.EXE. In
Windows 95 and Windows 98, conflicts are reported
by the Device Manager (Settings/Control Panel/Sy-
stem).
Have you made changes in your computer’s BIOS
setup?
Have you changed the configuration of your system
(boot menus, memory managers, etc.)?
The GSM cellular phone doesn’t dial when you want to
make a data or fax call.
Verify the following:
Is the Controller inserted firmly in the PCMCIA slot?
Is the cable connected correctly to the socket on the
Controller card (with the triangular mark towards the
top side of the card)? Is the other end securely
connected to the GSM cellphone?
Are you able to make ordinary voice calls with the GSM
cellphone?
If the telephone is a Siemens S4: does it have a valid
firmware release (26. 9. 1995 or later)?
When in doubt, ask your distributor.
Is your fax or data application software compatible
with CAPI 2.0?
Conventional modem applications will not support the
AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1 directly. The CAPI
Port Driver is necessary to interpret the program’s
modem commands.
Your cellphone dials, but does not connect.
