5 Uses of the AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1

Telephone calls cannot be placed or received during
data or fax connections. SMS messages may be
received, however.
Support for CAPI 1.1 applications is limited to ISDN
data services.
The maximum data throughput in the GSM network is
9600 bit/s. The effective throughput can be increased
by means of data compression.
5.1 Remote Equipment Supported
The AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1 may be used to
connect to the following types of remote terminal
equipment:
in GSM:
- AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1, AVM Mobile ISDN-
Controller M2, AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller
FRITZ!GSM or compatible, with appropriate CAPI
application software
- Group 3 telefax devices
in ISDN:
- AVM ISDN-Controller B1 with appropriate CAPI
application software
- AVM ISDN-Controller FRITZ!Card or compatible
On the CD-ROM "AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1/
M2" you will find setup files enabling the FRITZ!Card
Classic, FRITZ!Card PCI, FRITZ!Card PnP and the
FRITZ!Card PCMCIA to support the Mobile ISDN
GSM 07.08 Standard. Thus you can use Mobile
ISDN with the AVM ISDN-Controller FRITZ!Card
at the remote site.
The Standard GSM 07.08 enables data transfer via
the ISDN protocoll V.110/X.75/ISO3309 with
connection set-up times and a transfer quality which
can only be achieved in ISDN. Up to now the Mobile
ISDN functions could only be used with the AVM
