• AVM ISDN Fax (G3)
The virtual modem “AVM ISDN Fax (G3)” allows you to
use the fax capability of Microsoft Exchange/Outlook
or other G3 fax applications for connections to
conventional analog fax devices. The Group 3 fax
standard distinguishes among different fax classes.
“AVM ISDN Fax (G3)” supports Class 2.
When installing MS Exchange/Outlook, select the
modem “AVM ISDN FAX (G3)”. No other special settings
are necessary. (The setting S32=3 is the default for
this modem). For more information on configuring MS
Exchange/Outlook, please consult the Windows
documentation, your distributor or Microsoft.
• AVM ISDN Analog Modem (V.32)
Use the virtual modem “AVM ISDN Analog Modem
(V.32bis)” to connect to analog BBS systems or your
ISP’s analog dial-in ports. The initialization command
for V.32bis analog communication is “ATS31=8”.
Asynchronous PPP must also be activated (S51=0).
Both of these settings are already configured as the
defaults for this modem entry.
• AVM ISDN Custom Config
To connect to an ISDN dial-in port using the V.110
protocol, you must select the “AVM ISDN Custom
Config” modem. You can set this modem for V.110 as
follows:
1. Click the Modems icon in the Windows Control
Panel (opened under Start/Settings).
2. Select the modem “AVM ISDN Custom Config”.
3. Click the Properties button and select the
“Connection” page.
4. In the next dialog, click Advanced.
5. Enter the following initialization command for V.110
in the “Extra Settings” field: ATS31=2; S51=0.
6. Click OK twice to close each of the two dialogs.
