3 Installation of the Driver Software – Windows 98
Upon closing, the Setup program displays the Con-
troller settings. Acknowledge by clicking Continue.
You will now find a new folder named "AVM" under
"Programs" in the Windows 98 Start menu. This folder
contains the shortcuts Mobile M1 Load, Mobile M1
Unload, Mobile M1 Help and Mobile M1 Setup.
This completes the driver software installation for the
AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1 in Windows 98. You
may now proceed to the next section to begin working
with the Controller.
3.4.2 Loading the Driver Software
In order for you to use the Controller, its driver software
must be loaded. The driver is loaded upon completion of
the installation procedure. The CAPI 2.0 interface is
available to applications only when the Controller is
loaded.
By default, the Controller is loaded automatically when
you insert the Controller in the PCMCIA slot or when you
start Windows 98. Loading takes place before programs
in the Startup group are started, so that you can use the
Startup group to run CAPI applications automatically. You
can also deactivate the automatic loading function (see
Section 3.4.4 below).
To load the Mobile ISDN-Controller manually, run the
program Mobile M1 Load in the "AVM" folder under
"Programs" in the Windows 98 Start menu.
After the Controller has been loaded successfully, a
message box appears with information about the current
configuration of the Controller.
3.4.3 Unloading the Driver Software
To remove the driver software from memory, click
Mobile M1 Unload in the "AVM" folder under "Programs"
in the Start menu. A message appears confirming the
operation.
