3 Installation of the Driver Software – Windows 98
3.3.6 Uninstalling the Driver Software
To remove the Mobile ISDN-Controller from the Windows
95 system, open the Control Panel and double-click the
Add/Remove Programs applet. Select the entry “AVM
Mobile ISDN-Controller M1” in the list of installed
software,
and click the Add/Remove button. The “Uninstall” pro-
gram is started. Follow the instructions displayed.
To complete the deinstallation you are asked to restart
Windows 95.
3.4 Windows 98 Installation
Specially developed WDM (Win32 Driver Model) driver
software is supplied with the AVM Mobile ISDN-Con-
troller M1 for use in Microsoft Windows 98. This true 32-
bit device driver provides full support for all Windows 98
features.
The Common ISDN API 2.0 driver supplied supports both
Windows and DOS applications simultaneously.
3.4.1 Installing the Driver Software
To install the ISDN-Controller software for Windows 98,
proceed as follows:
1. Restart Windows 98 and insert the CD-ROM "AVM
Mobile ISDN-Controller M1/M2" in your CD-ROM
drive.
2. Then insert the AVM Mobile ISDN-Controller M1
in your computer’s PCMCIA slot.
Windows 98’s Plug&Play mechanism detects the
new card and Windows builds a driver information
database.
3. The Add New Hardware Wizard appears and searches
for drivers for the new device. Click Next.
4.
In the next dialog, select the option “Search for the
best driver for your device. (Recommended).” Then
click Next.
