3 Installation of the Driver Software – Windows 3.x

If a DOS-based CAPI driver is already installed when
Windows starts, it can still be used in Windows, but the
advantages of the 32-bit Windows driver are not available.
It is therefore recommended that you deactivate the DOS-
based CAPI driver (by entering ibase –) before starting
Windows.
3.2.1 Installing the Driver Software
To install the Controller software for Windows 3.x, proceed
as follows:
1. Start Windows.
2. Insert the CD-ROM labelled “AVM Mobile ISDN-Con-
troller M1/M2” in your CD-ROM drive.
See the file README.HLP or README.TXT in the CD-ROM’s
directory \CARDWARE\M1\WINDOWS.3XX\ENGLISH for
more information before you begin.
3. In the "File" menu of the Program Manager, select
the Run command.
4. In the command line, enter
<CD-ROM>:\CARDWARE\M1\WINDOWS.3XX
\ENGLISH\setup
Click OK to start the installation program.
The Initializing Setup message is displayed. After
initialization is complete, the installation program’s
sign-on message appears.
5. Click the Continue button.
The installation can be canceled at any time by
selecting Exit.
6. In the next dialog, enter the name of the directory in
which you want to install the Mobile ISDN-Controller
driver software.
The default is C:\IDRIVER. You may confirm this or
enter any other directory name. When your entry is
complete, confirm by clicking the Continue button.
