4 Driver Software Installation
in Windows NT
Specially developed Windows NT driver software is supplied
with the AVM ISDN-Controller C4. The applications interface
supplied, COMMON-ISDN-API (CAPI) Version 2.0, supports
both 16-bit and 32-bit applications (but DOS applications are
not supported). This Windows NT driver also can be used
with older applications designed for CAPI 1.1. For more infor-
mation about CAPI, please see the section
“The Applications
Interface CAPI 2.0” on page 27.
4.1 Installing the Driver Software
The default settings for all four S

interfaces are as follows:
During the installation you will have the opportunity to
change the S

interface parameters for each of the AVM
ISDN-Controller C4’s S
0
interfaces, or for all four S
0
interfaces
at once.
To install the driver software, proceed as follows:
1. Start Windows NT 4.0.
2. Insert the “AVM ISDN-Controller C4” driver CD in your
CD-ROM drive.
3. Select “Run” in the Windows NT 4.0 “Start” menu. In
the command line, enter the path to the setup files for
Windows NT:
<CD-ROM drive>:\cardware\c4\windows.nt\
English\setup.exe
You may also click the “Browse” button and find the
path in the directory list. Click “OK” to start the installa-
tion.
