Installing the Driver Software
18 Controller A1 PCMCIA – 4 Installing the Driver Software in Windows 98
3. Insert the AVM ISDN-Controller A1 PCMCIA in the
PCMCIA slot.
4. The “Add New Hardware Wizard” window appears. You
are asked to install a new device driver. Click on “Next”.
5. Highlight the “Search for the best driver for your device
(Recommended)” option and confirm by clicking“Next”.
6. Activate the “Specify a location:” option and specify
the path to your CD-ROM drive and the folder containing
the setup program for Windows 98:
<CD-ROM Drive>:\cardware\a1.pcm\
windows.98\<language>
7. Confirm by clicking “Next”.
8. The Windows 98 Hardware Wizard announces that it
has found a driver file for the “AVM ISDN-Controller A1
PCMCIA”. Click “Next”.
9. The driver software will now be copied to your comput-
er. Once copying has been completed, a message ap-
pears announcing that the software for the new hard-
ware device has been installed. Click on “Finish”.
4.2 Installing the Driver Software
1. Once you have installed the new hardware device, the
setup program's sign-on window appears. You can call
up the “Readme” file for Controller A1 PCMCIA from this
window. Click on “Continue”.
Press the “F1” key to display a Help text on any given
installation step.

In the next window, specify the folder in which the AVM
ISDN-Controllers A1 PCMCIA driver software is to be in-
stalled and click on “Continue”
.
3. In the next window, specify the D-channel protocol
used by your ISDN line. Click on the appropriate proto-
col type and then click on “Continue”. The setup pro-
gram now copies all driver files to the specified folder.
