Wireless LAN Connection Interrupted
FRITZ!Box 3390 127
Configure Automatic Radio Channel Selection
Configure automatic selection of the radio channel in the
FRITZ!Box. Then the FRITZ!Box will automatically select a ra-
dio channel with as little interference as possible.
1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface (see page 29).
2. Select “WLAN > Radio Channel”.
3. Enable the option “Set radio channel settings automati-
cally (recommended)”
4. Click “Apply”.
Use the 5-GHz Frequency Band
The FRITZ!Box simultaneously provides one wireless LAN ra-
dio network in the 2.4-GHz frequency band and another in
the 5-GHz band.
The 5-GHz frequency band is subject to less interference than
the 2.4-GHz band. Use the 5-GHz frequency band with any
wireless LAN devices that support this band.
Configure the FRITZ!Box as follows so that you can select the
5-GHz radio network on your wireless LAN devices:
1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface (see page 29).
2. Enable the advanced view.
Click the “View:” link once to switch between the stan-
dard view and the advanced view.
3. Select “WLAN > Radio Channel”.
4. Enable the 5-GHz frequency band.
5. Assign the 5-GHz radio network a different name from
the 2.4-GHz radio network, for instance “FRITZ!Box
3390_5GHz”.
6. Click “Apply”.
7. Reconnect your wireless LAN devices with the FRITZ!Box.
Wireless LAN devices that support 5 GHz will now find
two FRITZ!Box radio networks when they search for wire-
less access points: the 2.4-GHz radio network and the 5-
GHz radio network.
