1 Introduction
FRITZ!X PC is an ISDN-Connector: a combination ISDN-Con-
troller and ISDN PBX (Private Branch Exchange). This intelli-
gent combination allows you to connect your computer and
four analog devices to ISDN. In this way you can continue us-
ing your existing analog equipment, such as telephones, an-
swering machines and fax machines, while taking advantage
of ISDN features. You can use both tone-dialing and pulse-di-
aling terminal equipment.
FRITZ!X PC’s built-in ISDN-Controller and the FRITZ! communi-
cation software allow you to use ISDN applications such as
Internet access, file transfer, Group 3 telefax, answering ma-
chine functions and PC telephony with your computer.
The PBX configuration can be performed either using the
configuration program FRITZ!X on your PC, or from a touch-
tone (DTMF: dual-tone multifrequency dialing) telephone.
This manual describes how to configure the PBX using the
configuration program FRITZ!X. For instructions on configur-
ing FRITZ!X PC from an extension telephone, please see the
file ConfgTel.PDF in the \software\info folder on the
FRITZ!X PC CD.
The following illustration shows a sample ISDN line configu-
ration using FRITZ!X PC.
