No internal dial tone when you pick up the handset
Check whether automatic outside dialing is disabled for the
extension.
Busy signal when...
l You pick up the handset (if automatic outside dialing is
activated for your extension)
l You dial the outside line prefix (if automatic outside di-
aling is not activated for your extension)
In both of these cases, the busy signal indicates that both of
your ISDN lineās B channels are busy with active connec-
tions. At the moment you cannot dial an external call. Wait
until a B channel is free.
Your fax machine indicates that the line is busy
Both of your ISDN lineās B channels are busy with active con-
nections. At the moment you cannot dial an external call.
Wait until a B channel is free.
Automatic outside dialing is deactivated for your extension,
and you hear a busy signal 30 seconds after you pick up the
handset or switch on your fax machine
This is not an error. FRITZ!X PC sounds the busy signal if your
handset is off the hook for 30 seconds and no number is
dialed. If you begin dialing the desired phone or fax number
within 30 seconds, there should be no problem.
The extension does not ring for an incoming external call
Check whether the terminal device that you expect to receive
an external call is connected to the right extension. Then
make sure that the MSN which your caller is dialing is assig-
ned to that extension. If not, either connect the terminal de-
vice to the extension to which the MSN is actually assigned,
or assign the MSN to the extension to which the terminal de-
vice is actually connected.
