6.4 Hold
The “Hold” feature allows you to free your extension momen-
tarily without ending the connection.
When your connection is on hold, you can talk to someone
else in the room with you or dial a second telephone call
without the original caller hearing you. When you have fin-
ished, you can return to the original connection.
To place a call on hold and then reactivate it, proceed as fol-
lows:
If you return to Caller No. 1 by pressing the Hold button, the
connection to Caller No. 2 is not cleared down until Caller No.
2 hangs up. You are charged for the connection.

You are talking on an active connection.

Press the Hold button. Call No. 1 is now on hold.

To begin a connection to Caller No. 2, dial the de-
sired number.
Call No. 2

When Caller No. 2 answers, you can talk.

If Caller No. 2 is busy or does not answer, press
the Hold button again to return to Call No. 1.

To switch back to Call No. 1, dial the sequence
shown at left. Call No. 1 is now active again.

You can also return to Caller No. 1 by hanging up
the handset: this ends the connection to Caller
No. 2. In this case the phone rings as soon as you
have hung up. Pick up the handset again to return
to Call No. 1.

Hang up the handset to end the connection.
