The exact timing of Call Diversion depends on your
ISDN provider’s switching equipment.
l Divert new calls whenever the number dialed is busy
l Divert incoming calls if the MSN is busy, or if it is not an-
swered within 20 seconds
5.8 Updating the Firmware: The ‘Update’
Settings Page
The configuration program FRITZ!X allows you to bring your
ISDN-Connector up to date as new technical advances are
made in ISDN communication. All you need to do is to up-
date the ISDN-Controller’s firmware.
You can obtain the new firmware from the AVM Data Call Cen-
ter (ADC), or over the Internet from AVM’s FTP server.
The new firmware is installed in your ISDN-Connector by the
FRITZ!X configuration program. To update the firmware, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. Dial the ADC in FRITZ!data (+49-30-399 84 300), or
point your browser or FTP client to AVM’s FTP server,
ftp.avm.de. In the directory “CARDWARE/<product
name>/FIRMWARE”, find the file “FIRMW.EXE” and
download it to your computer. Double-click this file in
the Windows Explorer to unpack the new firmware file.
2. Start the configuration program FRITZ!X.
3. In the “Settings” dialog, click the “Update” tab.
4. In the “File” text field, enter the full path name of the
firmware file that you downloaded and unpacked.
Alternatively, click the “Browse” button to search for
the file, which has the file name extension .DAT. When
