CLIR (Calling Line Identification Restriction)
When the “CLIR” option is activated, your telephone number
will not be displayed to the subscriber you call.
If you want others to be able to see your Caller ID, deactivate
the “CLIR” checkbox.
The CLIR option on the MSNs settings page suppresses the
Caller ID for all outgoing connections. To suppress your Call-
er ID for a single call, see the section “Call Waiting” on
page 51.
In order for this option to take effect, the feature “CLIR” must
be enabled for your ISDN line!
CLIP (Calling Line Identification Presentation)
When the “CLIP” option is activated, the phone number from
which an incoming call (external or internal) originates is
shown in the display panel of your telephone.
If you do not want your extension to display the caller’s num-
ber when it rings, then deactivate the “CLIP” checkbox.
This feature is only effective if your telephone supports CLIP.
It may also be necessary to activate a CLIP option in your
telephone.
