ing Caller ID.
6. Repeat these steps for the remaining extensions.
7. To save and activate these settings, click the “Transmit”
button. The configuration information is then sent to
FRITZ!X PC and stored in its on-board memory. To aban-
don your changed MSN settings and reload the existing
settings from FRITZ!X PC, click the “Load” button.
Specifying the Outside Dialing Mode
In FRITZ!X PCs original factory settings, automatic outside di-
aling is activated for all extensions. This means that the out-
side dial tone is heard as soon as you pick up the handset of
an extension telephone.
To switch an extension from automatic outside dialing to in-
ternal dialing, deactivate the “Outside dialing” radio button.
When the handset is picked up on the corresponding exten-
sion, the PBX’s internal dial tone is heard. A zero must be di-
aled before any external number.
Call Waiting
The ISDN feature “Call Waiting” informs you during a call if a
second caller is dialing your line. An acoustic signal in your
telephone handset notifies you that a second call is waiting.
Call Waiting can be activated or deactivated for each exten-
sion individually.
For further information on the ISDN feature “Call Waiting”,
see the section “Call Waiting” on page 51.
Some older fax machines and modems may not interpret the
Call Waiting signal correctly. If communication errors occur,
you should disable Call Waiting for fax and modem exten-
sions.
