AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver
The AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver allows you to use an ISDN-
Controller as if it were a modem.
Programs designed to communicate with modems can use
the AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver to address the ISDN interface.
In this way, all AVM ISDN-Controllers can be used with Win-
dows’ many communication functions. For example, you can
use Dial-Up Networking and the TCP/IP protocol to set up a
dial-up connection to your Internet provider.
The AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver creates a number of virtual
modems in your system with default settings that can be
used for the most common applications with no additional
configuration. These modems can be selected in Windows
applications such as Dial-Up Networking, or Microsoft Ex-
change/Outlook. Simply select a previously configured des-
tination, and ISDN communication can begin.
Furthermore, the modem settings can be customized by
means of AT commands. To set specific MSNs for incoming
call acceptance and the virtual modem’s outgoing Caller ID,
for example, proceed as follows:
l Open the Control Panel under “Settings” in the Start
menu and double-click the “Modems” icon. Select the
desired modem in the list.
l Click the “Properties” button.
l On the “Connection” dialog page, click the “Ad-
vanced...” button.
