32 FRITZ!X PC – 4 FRITZ!: Internet and ISDN Software
FRITZ!vox lets your computer act as an answering machine.
You can record different greetings for specific dial-in num-
bers, specific callers or different times of day.
In the FRITZ! Address Book you can store all the information
needed to dial up connections with all FRITZ! modules. The
Address Book can be opened directly from any FRITZ! mod-
ule.
Detailed information about FRITZ! can be found in the pro-
gram’s On-line Help and in the FRITZ! manual. The manual is
supplied as a PDF file in the folder \software\info on the
FRITZ!X PC CD. If you need to install the Acrobat Reader to
read the PDF file, you can use the installation program in the
same folder on the FRITZ!X PC CD.
4.2 Connecting to the Internet with
FRITZ!web
In addition to the traditional ISDN services such as file trans-
fer or telefax, FRITZ!X PC also supports Internet access. You
can use FRITZ!X PC to explore the World Wide Web, exchange
E-mail or join in chat groups.
There are many ways to set up Internet connections. The fol-
lowing section explains the capabilities and advantages of
the Internet access module FRITZ!web.

FRITZ!web, please see the FRITZ! On-line Help.
Another way to set up an ISDN connection to the Internet is
by using Windows’ Dial-Up Networking with the AVM system
drivers. For further information, please see the section “In-
ternet Connections using the AVM System Drivers” on
page 34.
Choosing the Default Connection
After installing FRITZ!web, specify which of your Internet Ser-
vice Providers (ISPs) is your default connection to the Inter-
net. The default connection is automatically on stand-by
