Beginning the Installation in Windows NT 4.0
Administrator rights are required to install the driver soft-
ware in Windows NT.
Make sure the latest Windows NT Service Pack is installed on
your computer before installing the driver software! The Ser-
vice Pack is available from Microsoft.
Proceed as follows and observe the instructions displayed
on your screen:
1. After connecting FRITZ!X PC, start your computer.
2. When the Windows start-up procedure has been com-
pleted, insert the FRITZ!X PC CD in your CD-ROM drive.
The installation Help program starts automatically.
3. Click the FRITZ! icon in the first Help page.
4. In the Help page that appears, choose the operating
system in which the software is to be installed by click-
ing the corresponding button.
5. The Setup program starts. In its welcome window, click
“Continue”.
6. Specify the folder in which you want to install the driver
software for FRITZ!X PC, or confirm the default folder.
Confirm your choice by clicking “Continue”.
7. In the next dialog, select an available COM port for
FRITZ!X PC and click “Continue”.
When the driver software installation is complete, a message
box appears displaying the configuration of FRITZ!X PC.
Once the driver software for the FRITZ!X PC ISDN-Connector
has been installed, the Setup program reports that the FRITZ!
communications software can be installed. Click the “Install”
button, and skip ahead to the section “Continuing the Instal-
lation” on page 24.
