A page with instructions for installing FRITZ!X PC ap-
pears. Please read these carefully and then click the
“Start Installation” button at the bottom of the page.
5. The Setup program starts. In its sign-on window, click
“Continue”.
6. Specify the folder in which you want to install the driver
software for FRITZ!X PC, or confirm the default folder.
Confirm your choice by clicking “Continue”.
7. In the next dialog, select an available COM port for
FRITZ!X PC and click “Continue”.
When the driver software installation is complete, a message
box appears displaying the configuration of FRITZ!X PC.
After the driver software for the FRITZ!X PC ISDN-Connector
has been installed, the Setup program reports that the
FRITZ! communications software can be installed. Click the
“Install” button, and skip ahead to the section “Continuing
the Installation” on page 24.
Windows 98 includes an ISDN Configuration Wizard. Howev-
er, this Wizard only performs the configuration procedure for
a previously installed NDIS WAN CAPI driver (an AVM system
driver). The Wizard cannot be used to install ISDN hardware
and software correctly, nor to set up an ISDN connection.
Beginning the Installation in Windows 2000
Administrator rights are required to install the driver soft-
ware in Windows 2000.
The dialogs described in the following instructions are part
of the Windows 2000 operating system. Consult the Win-
dows 2000 manual wherever necessary.
1. After connecting FRITZ!X PC, start your computer.
When the Windows start-up procedure has been com-
pleted, insert the FRITZ!X PC CD in your CD-ROM drive.
The introductory Help program starts automatically.
2. Click the FRITZ! icon in the first Help page.
