If one or more of the components is already installed, such

as the FRITZ! communication software, and you now want to

install other software components, please turn to the in-

structions in Section “Installing Individual Software Compo-

nents” on page 26.

3.2 Beginning the Installation

The software installation procedure is somewhat different for

the various operating systems, Windows Me, 98, 95, 2000

and NT, due to the different driver software. This part of the

installation is described separately for each operating sys-

tem. Once the driver software has been installed, the re-

maining installation steps are the same for all operating sys-

tems, and are described in the section “Continuing the In-

stallation” on page 24.

The software components for FRITZ!X PC are installed by

means of a single setup program.

Please note that only one CAPI driver may be installed on

your computer. If you have installed another ISDN-Controller

or ISDN-Connector on your computer in the past, you must

first remove its driver software before you can install FRITZ!X

PC’s CAPI driver.

Beginning the Installation in Windows Me, 98 or

Proceed as follows and observe the instructions displayed

on your screen:

1. After connecting your FRITZ!X PC, start the computer.

2. Once the Windows start-up procedure has been com-

pleted, insert the FRITZ!X PC CD in your CD-ROM drive.

The installation Help program starts automatically.

3. Click the FRITZ! icon in the first Help page.

4. In the Help page that appears, choose the operating

system in which the software is to installed by clicking

on the corresponding button.
