3 Software Installation
The software for FRITZ!X PC can be installed in Windows
Millenium, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows 2000 or
Windows NT 4.0.
After FRITZ!X PC has been installed and connected to your
computer, your analog terminal equipment, and the ISDN
line, you can install all the software components for FRITZ!X
PC using a single setup program.
This chapter describes the initial installation of all software
components. If one of the components is already installed,
such as the FRITZ! communication software, please see the
instructions in the section “Installing Individual Software
Components” on page 26.
3.1 The Software Components of FRITZ!X
PC
The first time you run the installation program, the following
software components are installed:
l The FRITZ!X PC driver software
l The FRITZ! communications software (please see
“FRITZ!: Internet and ISDN Software” on page 31 and
the FRITZ! software manual)
l The AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver (please see the section
“Internet Connections using the AVM System Drivers”
on page 34)
l The FRITZ!X configuration program (please see the
chapter “Configuring FRITZ!X PC” on page 38)
In the section “Program Installation Folders” on page 26 you
will find information about the installation locations of the
various software components on your computer.
