2.1 What Does FRITZ!Card Require?
The following requirements must be met before you can oper-
ate the AVM ISDN Controller FRITZ!Card in your computer:
Your computer must have a free 8-bit or 16-bit plug-in slot
because FRITZ!Card is designed as a plug-in card for
computers with a PC/AT bus system. If both types of slot are
available, you should insert FRITZ!Card into the 16-bit slot.
Find out which protocol is provided on your ISDN line by the
ISDN network operator. Connections employing the DSS1 or
1TR6 protocol are possible. Connections installed
subsequent to 1994 are generally DSS1 connections (Euro-
ISDN connections).
An IBM or 100% compatible computer with a hard disk and a
CD-ROM drive.
Microsoft Windows 3.x for installation of the 16-bit version
of FRITZ!.
Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 (Workstation i386)
for installation of the 32-bit version of FRITZ!.
If you intend to use the functions CAPI SoftModem V32 for
fax receiving and CAPI SoftCompression X75/V42bis (see
page 8) for data compression, we recommend a computer
with a Pentium processor and a minimum 16 MB of RAM.
If all these requirements are met, you can install FRITZ!Card.
FRITZ!Card and the software supplied with it have been developed
as a single workstation solution and are intended exclusively for the
connection of an individual PC to the ISDN.
