3.3 Installation in Windows 3.x
You have the facility to install FRITZ!Card with the aid of the
introduction contained on the CD. This introduction guides you
through the installation procedure and gives you installation
instructions.
Start the CD introduction by going into the File Manager and
double-clicking on the file INTRO.HLP in the root directory of
the FRITZ!Card CD.
FRITZ!Card is installed on your computer by means of a detailed
installation program. Installation is performed in four main
steps:
1. Setting the I/O address on FRITZ!Card
2. Installation of FRITZ!Card in the PC
3. Connection of FRITZ!Card to the ISDN
4. Installation of the driver software for FRITZ!Card
With Windows 3.x it is absolutely essential to observe the sequence
of the installation steps. If you fail to follow the specified sequence,
error-free operation of FRITZ!Card is not guaranteed.
The procedure for installing FRITZ!Card is as follows:
1. Setting the I/O Address on FRITZ!Card
• In the first step of installation before installing FRITZ!Card
in your computer, make sure that a free interrupt and a free
I/O address are available. To this end, call up a diagnostic
program by going into DOS and entering C:\MSD. In the next
window you will see a listing of the interrupts which are al-
ready in use.
• If you wish to use an I/O address for FRITZ!Card which devi-
ates from the preset value on the card, it is necessary to
change the jumper position directly on the card. For how to
change the jumper position, see Chapter 6 “Setting the I/O
Area (I/O Address) on FRITZ!Card”.
