3.5 The Journal
The Journal logs all connections, both incoming calls and the
connections you establish with Alice.
Click the button on the left to open the Journal.
The charges are only displayed if your line includes the
AOCD/AOCE charge information feature.
You can establish a connection to a remote site by double-
clicking a Journal record. This is Alice’s way of making it con-
venient to call subscribers whose unsuccessful attempts to
reach you were logged in the Journal.
Fields and Descriptions in the Alice Journal
Field Description
Date/Time Here you see the date and time when the
connection was established.
Duration/Charges These columns display the duration of the
connection and the connection charges
accrued.
Name The name of the remote site appears here if
the remote partner is registered in your Alice
Phone Book. For IP connections, the name
of the computer at the remote site is
displayed.
Number This column displays the numbers, IP
addresses or URLs to which you connected
or which called into your system.
2nd Phone Number This column shows the numbers to which
you connected or the numbers of the remote
sites that called into your system. This
column is only filled for connections to
remote sites in the US, where every B
channel has its own number.
Channels This field indicates whether the connection
was established with one or two B channels.
