Clearing a Connection
Alice – 3 Working with Alice 13
While Alice is connecting, the color of the screen changes
and the LEDs to the left of the screen blink. The time needed
for connecting is displayed in minutes and seconds.
As soon as the connection has been established, the mes-
sage “Connected with <designation of the remote site in the
phone book (telephone number or IP address of the remote
site)>” appears in the status window. After a brief delay,
video and audio are transmitted to the remote site. During
the connection, Alice shows the duration of the connection
in the status window. For ISDN connections with call charge
information enabled, the charges accrued for the connection
are displayed as well.
The charges are only displayed if your ISDN line includes the
AOCD/AOCE charge information feature. It may be necessary
to enable this feature on the PBX as well.
Clearing a Connection
To clear the connection, click this button. The screen turns
black. The message “Connection has been terminated” ap-
pears in the status window.
3.2 Accepting Incoming Calls
When a call arrives, Alice rings. In addition, the message “In-
coming video call from <number or IP address>” appears in
the status window. If the caller is listed in the Alice Phone
Book, the name assigned to the caller in the Phone Book is
also displayed after the number in parentheses.
Two options are available for accepting incoming video calls:
automatic and manual call acceptance. The mode of call ac-
ceptance can be specified in the settings on the “General”
page.
