Step by Step: On the Server in the Translation Agency
Office
The following installation and configuration procedures must be per-
formed on the server at the translation agency’s office:
A Verify the Network Settings in the Windows Control Panel
The router will continue to provide Internet access. The computer on
which the AVM Access Server will be installed must therefore be config-
ured beforehand to access the Internet through its LAN adapter. Make
sure that the following settings have been configured:
The LAN adapter that connects the AVM Access Server with the
router must have a fixed, public IP address. This IP address must
be in the IP subnetwork assigned to your leased line by the
Internet Service Provider. The IP address of the router must be
entered as the default gateway.
The leased-line provider’s DNS servers must be entered as the
two DNS servers in the LAN adapter settings.
All LAN adapters to be used in conjunction with the AVM Access
Server must be configured with fixed IP addresses.
Proceed as follows:
1. In the Control Panel, open the “Network Connections”.
2. Click with the right mouse button on the LAN connection that con-
nects the AVM Access Server with the router and select “Proper-
ties”.
3. Select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” in the list of network compo-
nents and click “Properties”.
