TheMI-808Rminiaturereceivercanuseeither2conventionalorrechargeableAA
batteries.Whenusingconventionalbatteries,pleaseselecthighquality,leak-free
alkalinebatteries.Whenusingrechargeablebatteries,pleaseselecthighcapacityNi-
MHbatteriesthatarefreefrommemoryeffect.PoweringtheMI-808Rfromalkaline
batterieswillgiveyou10hoursoperatingtime.Whenthebatteryvoltagedropsbelow2
volt,thepowerindicatorwillflashasalowpowerwarning.Whenthebatteryvoltage
fallsbelow1.7volt,thepowermanagementsystemwillshutdownpowertoprotect
batteriesfromleakingorfrombeingdamagedduetoover-discharge.

Turnthepower/volumeswitch(1),locatedontopofreceiver,clockwisetoturnon
thepower.Afterthepowerison,thepowerstatusindicator(3)willflashandthe
numericLEDdisplay(7)willshowthepresetchannel.ThenumericLEDdisplay(7)will
extinguishafter4secondstosavepower(seeillustrationbelow).
Continueturningthepower/volumeswitch(1)clockwisetoturnthevolumeupor
counterclockwisetoturnthevolumedown.Thevolumesettingcanbelimitedviathe
LIMITswitch.(Pleaseseeillustrationbelow.)

Whenthereceiverisnotinuse,pleasemakesurethepoweristurnedoff.Ifthe
microphoneisnottobeusedforsometime,pleaseremovethebatteriesfromthe
batterycompartment,toavoidbatteryleakagewhichcouldresultindamagedbattery
springsandthecircuit.Ifrechargeablebatterieswereused,pleaseremoveand
rechargethem.
