SELECTING THE TIMING AND CONTROL CODE
8.1 GENERAL
The Society
of Motion Pictures and
Television Entertainment (SMPTE) time
code is like
AVL1s Clock-trak in that it
is
a digital timing code which can be
used to time cues. SMPTE was primarily
designed to control film and video
editing
.
All of the rules concerning AVL Clock-
trak programming apply to SMPTE. AVL1s
-, Genesis will accept SMPTE input and
generate SMPTE output, but it will not
convert SMPTE to
AVL1s Clock-trak or
vice versa.
8.2 SELECTING SMPTE
To select SMPTE as the timing and
control code for a multi-image and/or
video presentation, follow the procedure
outlined below.
a. Simultaneously press CTRL and
C keys to get to the Control
Command field.
b. Type SMPTE and press RETURN.
