7.1 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
This Chapter is addressed to users familiar with new software and systems
settings of Windows systems. Therefore, it only describes the most useful
information.
Does your tray icon look like this?
In some circumstances, Avira WebProtector service may not be able to establish
communication with the filter servers. In this case, you have to stop and restart the
service manually.
Perform the following steps:
f Go to the Windows Start menu, open the Control Panel and select
Administrative Tools.
f Select Services.
f Double-click on Avira WebFilter.
 The window Avira WebFilter Settings appears.
f In the General tab, press Stop.
 Avira WebFilter service stops. The service status is Stopped.
f Press Start.
f Avira WebFilter service restarts. The service status is Started.
f Press OK.
f Close the window.
 The tray icon now looks like this:
. Avira WebFilter is active.
If the error persists, you should check your Internet settings. The Firewall
or similar applications may have to be configured.
