Basic safety instructions To ensure safe operation of the appliance, follow the safety guidelines set out below: • Check the earphones for visible external damage before use. Do not operate damaged earphones.
• If the earphones, cables or connections are damaged, contact AVID Customer Care (see pg 31). • These earphones may be used by children aged 12 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are under supervision or have been told how to use the earphones safely and are aware of the potential risks. Do not allow children to use earphones as a toy.
• Do not make any unauthorized modifications or alterations to the earphones. • Never open the housing of the earphones. There are no parts inside which can be maintained. In addition, this will invalidate the warranty. • Do not place objects filled with liquids (such as vases or open drinks) next to the earphones. • Protect the earphones from penetration by moisture and liquids. • The earphones may heat up while charging.
• The earphones have an integrated rechargeable Li-ion battery Improper use of lithium polymer batteries can cause fires, explosions, leakage of hazardous materials or other hazards! Do not throw the earphones into an open fire. • If you notice unusual noises, a burning smell or smoke coming from your earphones, remove the earphones from your ears immediately and disconnect any attached charging cable. Contact AVID Customer Care (see pg 31) before using them again.
Risk of accidents DANGER! Risk of impaired perception! > Acoustic warnings/notification signals and ambient noise can sound different when you are wearing these earphones. Make yourself aware of how these signals deviate from their sound so that you can recognize the signals in appropriate situations. > Do not use the earphones while driving a vehicle, riding a bicycle, operating machinery or in any other situation in which impaired perception of ambient noise could put you or other people in danger.
USE Unpacking • Remove all parts and the operating instructions from the box. • Remove all packaging material.
NOTE > Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage. > If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact AVID Customer Care. Disposal of the packaging The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal and are therefore recyclable. Please recycle packaging in accordance with your local regulations.
Charging the battery Before using the earphones (1), the integrated battery must be charged fully. • Connect the USB plug of the charging cable (13) to a turned-on PC or a suitable USB power supply (not included). • Connect the Micro-USB plug of the charging cable (13) to the charging socket (micro-USB) (8) on the earphones (1). CAUTION > Only charge the earphones (1) in dry indoor spaces. > Only use USB power adapters with an output voltage of 5 V and an output current of at least 0.
> Always disconnect the charging cable (13) when charging is complete! NOTE > The operating/charging LED (7) lights red during charging. When the battery is fully charged, the operating/charging LED (7) turns off. > Charging takes about 1.5 hours when the earphones (1) are fully discharged. Inserting earphones • Place the neck band (3) around your neck. • When putting in the earphones (1), pay attention to the markings “R” (right) and “L” (left) on the earpieces.
• Hook the ear hook (9) over your ear to ensure that the earphone (1) sits firmly (see Fig.2). • Proceed in the same way to insert the other earphone (1). Fig.1 Fig.
Pairing the earphones with a wireless enable device Before you can use the earphones (1), you must pair them with a compatible wireless device. Procedure as follows: • Ensure that the earphones (1) are turned off and the wireless enable device is turned on. • Set the wireless device so that it scans for other wireless devices. A detailed description of how to do this can be found in the operating instructions for your wireless enable device.
• On your wireless device, select the entry AVID AE-350W from the list of found devices. When the pairing is established, the voice message will announce “Your device is connected” and the LED will begin slowly flashing blue. You can now begin using the earphone. If pairing between the AE-350W (1) and your wireless device is not successful within 3 minutes, the AE-350W (1) will automatically turn off.
NOTE > If the AE-350W (1) stop receiving a signal while in wireless mode, the AE-350W (1) will turn off automatically after 15 minutes following the voice message “Power OFF”. > The next time you turn on the AE-350W (1), they will automatically connect to the wireless device they were previously paired with. After you hear the message “Power ON”, the process of reconnecting will begin and a few seconds later you should hear the voice message “Your Device is Connected”.
HANDLING AND USE Operation of the buttons Button Function > Turning on: press and hold for 3 seconds. > Turning off: press and hold for 3 seconds.
+ – > Increase volume: press briefly/When you reach the maximum volume, you will hear the voice message announce, “Maximum Volume”. > Next track: Long press. The player moves on to the next track. > Reduce volume: press briefly > Previous track: Long press. The player moves back to the previous track.
Telephone functions The following telephone functions are only available when the earphone is used to make calls. Some wireless enable devices may not support all functions. • Use your wireless device to dial the required telephone number. The call is automatically transferred to earphones (1). • Speak normally as you would for a hands-free call into the microphone on the earphones (1) to make your call.
> You can turn the audio source back to your wireless enable device at any time. Consult the operating instructions of your wireless device for more information. Sound Quality Operating Modes The AE-350W operates in two different mode, and on some devices (like those running Windows) will appear as two separate devices. In most cases the App you use will automatically select the correct Device it needs. But sometimes you may be asked to select the device you want to use.

TROUBLESHOOTING The earphones cannot be paired with a compatible wireless device • Make sure that the wireless function is activated on the wireless device. • Check that the earphones (1) are turned on. • If you use several wireless devices, ensure that any previous connection is disconnected. There may be a previously paired wireless device in range. • Make sure that the earphones (1) are no more than 30 feet from the wireless device and that no obstacles or electronic devices are placed between them.
You cannot use all the functions described. • This may be down to your wireless device and its current software. Try updating the software or using a different wireless device. You hear no sound from the earphones. • The volume control of the earphones (1) is set to the minimum volume. Increase the playback volume. You only hear the sound from one of the earphones. • Go to the menu of your wireless device and adjust the balance so that sound comes out of both sides.
NOTE > If the above-mentioned solutions do not resolve the problem, please contact AVID Customer Care (see pg 31). DISPOSAL Disposal of the appliance The integrated rechargeable battery in this earphone cannot be removed for disposal. It should be recycled in accordance with your local authority. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in a landfill where hazardous substances would leak and cause soil and water contamination. 28 AVID Products, Inc.
