On the Pro Tools System
To record the Main L/R Mix using Direct Outs:
1 Launch Pro Tools and create a session.
2 Create and name a stereo audio track.
3 Assign track inputs so they correspond to the
assignable channels you patched the Main L/R
Direct Outs to in the VENUE Patchbay. To
change the track’s input assignment, click the In-
put Path selector and choose the input.
4 Click the track’s Record Enable button. The
Record Enable button flashes when enabled, and
is lit solid when engaged.
To send the Main L/R mix pre-EQ, use the
Top of Mains pickoff point. This lets you cap-
ture the mix without hearing the effect of any
inserted plug-ins or graphic EQs.
For the Main L/R channels, adjusting either
channel’s Direct Output controls affects
both channels.
