Mounting and Unmounting
Workspaces
Mounting a workspace to your Pro Tools work-
station is equivalent to connecting to a network
drive or mounting a FireWire drive to your com-
puter. Once the drive is mounted, you can con-
nect to that workspace, stream media from it,
save media to it, and unmount it.
To mount or unmount Unity workspaces using your
Pro Tools client:
1 Open the Connection Manager.
2 In the Connection Manager window, select
the Workspaces that you wish to mount or un-
mount.
3 If mounting a workspace, and you want the
Pro Tools client to automatically mount these
workspaces each time you log into the Media-
Network system, select the option at the bottom
of the dialog.
4 Click Apply.
Configuring the Pro Tools
Playback Engine
Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Native systems
have multiple playback modes at different sam-
ple rates. For optimum performance in a Media-
Network system, it is recommended that you
use the least number of voices per DSP.
To configure the Playback Engine:
1 Launch Pro Tools.
2 Choose Setups > Playback Engine.
3 Select the lowest number of voices per DSP for
the Playback Engine.
4 Click OK.

You can use the other Playback Engine set-
tings if your session is on local storage.
