Chapter 12: Dynamic Automation (S5P Only) 151
Executing the Conform Operation
After all notes have been entered and verified, press the Conform button at the bottom-center of the screen. The Execute Conform
dialog appears to confirm that you want to proceed. This realigns the automation with the edited film.
Each Conform operation adds a new pass to the Pass Tree. To undo the Conform operation, return to the previous pass to the one
just created (see “Mix Passes” on page 146).
After the Conform operation, the notes remain displayed in the Conform screen. Be careful to avoid clicking the Conform button
again as this mis-aligns the data. If that happens by mistake, don’t worry! Just undo the second Conform operation.
Reel Balancing
While mixing and editing a program, a scene may need to move from one reel to another. Since each reel normally has its own
Title, the console automation for the moved scene must also be moved into the other reel’s Title.
To move automation from one Title to another:
1 Select Move to file to delete the moved scene automation into the conform file.
2 Open the Title of the reel with the moved scene.
3 At the start of the moved scene, select Paste from file.
4 Click Conform.
Execute Conform dialog
Automation data in the conform file always starts at 00:00:00:00.
