Recording Automation
Since Isolate is the default mode for all parameters, the read and write LEDs are off at the beginning of a new mixing session.
To record and play automation, the Mix On key must be lit at the top left of the center section Automation Panel (see the figure on
page 125).
Knob and Fader Automation
To record basic fader and knob automation:
1 Press the Mix On button so it is lit.
2 Set the automation mode to Write Absolute or Write Trim for desired parameters.
3 Play an audio source that includes timecode into the console.
4 Press an automated parameter’s Select/Punch key or touch the fader to punch in.
The parameter’s automation LED flashes red.
The Chan Select key cannot be used to punch in an entire channel.
5 Adjust the parameter.
6 Press the parameter’s Select/Punch key again, or release the fader to punch out.
Press the All Knobs key to punch out all knobset parameters.
