MIDI Operations Window
The MIDI Operations window opens when
choosing any of the following commands
from the MIDI menu:
Quantize
Change Velocity
Change Duration
Transpose
Select Notes
Split Notes
Input Quantize
To reconfigure the MIDI Operations win-
dow for a different command, select the
command from the MIDI menu or from
the pop-up menu at the top of the window
(see Figure 12).
The MIDI Operations window can be left
open as desired, revisiting it as necessary to
invoke a command, or to try out different
options for a particular command.
To show or hide the MIDI Operations window:
Choose Windows > Show MIDI Opera-
tions.
To invoke the command in the MIDI
Operations window:
Click Apply or press Enter on the nu-
meric keypad. This invokes the command
and leaves the window in the foreground.

Press Return (Macintosh) or Enter on the
alpha keyboard (Windows). This invokes
the command and moves the window to
the background.
To undo the command in the MIDI Operations
window:
Choose Edit > Undo.
Options in the MIDI Operations
Window
Use the following methods to easily config-
ure the various options, which vary from
command to command, in the MIDI Oper-
ations window:
To move forward and back through the
various fields, press Tab or Shift+Tab.
Increment or decrement selected fields
with the Up/Down Arrows. Press and hold
these keys to scroll quickly through the val-
ues.
Press Command (Macintosh) or Control
(Windows) while adjusting sliders for finer
resolution.
For selected pitch and velocity fields,
play a note on your MIDI controller to au-
tomatically enter it.
Changing a value for a particular param-
eter (such as the Swing Percentage in the
Quantize window), automatically enables
the parameter.
