Chapter 17: Importing and Exporting Session
Data
Pro Tools lets you import and export a variety of
data into and out of a session, including audio and
MIDI files, clip groups, video files, track playlists,
I/O configurations, and signal routing configura-
tions.
You can import individual audio and MIDI files
into a session, or import entire audio or MIDI
tracks, along with all of their attributes, from an-
other session. Additionally, with Pro Tools HD,
you have the option of importing any combination
of track attributes from another session, such as a
track’s audio or MIDI playlists, signal routing,
plug-ins, or automation (see “Importing Session
Data” on page 356).
When you are working with video, you can import
and export video files from a session (see
Chapter 51, “Working with Video in Pro Tools”
).
