Understanding the Switch Agent Interface
159
Statistics Tab
You can use the Statistics tab to view basic information about your network or network components. The Statistics
tab provides you with statistics for the local system and for the switch.
Tools Tab
The Tools tab provides you with network tools and component utilities that generate basic information on network
functioning and low-level information on switches. These tools are used primarily by Avid Customer Support to
diagnose problems with components of the media network.
Configure failover
policy
Allows you to enable or disable failover for all current link aggregation
configurations for your network. “Enable automatic failover for all networks”
is set by default.
Examples of the settings are as follows.
Failover enabled — For example, if three Link Aggregation ports are
configured, traffic is evenly distributed over the three ports. If one of the
links fail, the two remaining ports split the traffic. The overall bandwidth of
the Link Aggregation group is less because only two of the three ports are
working. The Link Aggregation group still works correctly.
Failover disabled — For example, if three Link Aggregation ports are
configured, traffic is evenly distributed over the three ports. If one of the
links fail, all traffic is stopped even though there are still have two working
ports. The Link Aggregation group is marked as failed and no traffic is
allowed.
